Global Divide’s Band A is a policy think tank dedicated to research, campaigns, and policy assessments focused on Global South changemakers and NGOs. Unlike traditional policy bodies that concentrate only on the issues, our research is tailored to the realities, needs, and innovations of the actors on the ground. This approach ensures our work is rooted in lived experience rather than distant observation.

We critically acknowledge the prevailing Global North South NGO dynamic, which remains anchored in a humanitarian model. In its place, we promote locally embedded and community driven development.
By enabling Southern civil society organisations to set operational and resource priorities based on their own expertise, we foster more holistic and collaborative social initiatives. Our work also responds directly to the ripple effects of contemporary funding withdrawals, protecting the effectiveness of grassroots efforts and safeguarding the survival of intersectional minority groups.
