Aarya Dhital is a Research Consultant at Global Divide, where she contributes to research and policy analysis that centre Global South perspectives in international forums. She is currently a third-year law student at Kathmandu University, with developing expertise in international humanitarian law, women’s rights, and legal education.
Her academic journey has been marked by distinction. She has earned national recognition as First Runner-Up and Best Memorial in moot competitions and represented her institution at the Jean-Pictet Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious forums for international humanitarian law. Aarya has also published articles and news pieces on women’s rights, underscoring her commitment to amplifying the voices of vulnerable communities.
Beyond academia, she founded Law.Padhau, an educational platform that simplifies legal concepts and uncovers the history behind laws, making legal knowledge more accessible to wider audiences in Nepal and beyond.
At Global Divide, Aarya contributes a grounded and youthful perspective to research on humanitarian law, intersectional rights, and community-led approaches to development. Fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi, with basic proficiency in German, she is extending her work in research and legal education toward emerging interests in hydropower, foreign investment, and South Asia’s evolving legal landscape.
